BookCollar Legal
Booking and Cancellation Policy
Rules for booking lifecycle, cancellations, refunds, no-shows, and service issue handling.
Audience: Customers and providers
Effective date: April 28, 2026
Draft note: this policy set is a working legal draft pending attorney review.
1. Booking lifecycle
A booking request is not confirmed until provider acceptance and any required payment authorization are complete.
Users should keep communication in BookCollar messages so terms, timing, and scope are clearly documented.
2. Cancellation windows
Listings may use a flexible, moderate, or strict cancellation setting. The selected policy appears on the listing and booking flow.
BookCollar may provide exceptions for emergencies, documented safety concerns, or legal obligations.
3. Refund framework
If a cancellation qualifies under the active policy, eligible refunds are processed to the original payment method unless otherwise required by law.
Processing times may vary based on payment provider timelines.
4. No-shows and incomplete services
No-show claims may require time-stamped messages, photos, or other evidence. BookCollar may issue outcomes based on available records.
If a service is materially not delivered as described, either party may open a dispute and submit supporting documentation.
5. Dispute and chargeback support
Users agree to attempt good-faith resolution through BookCollar support before escalating disputes externally where possible.
Chargebacks or payment disputes may affect account standing until the issue is resolved.
