Copyright and Intellectual Property Policy

Ownership, platform license, infringement reporting process, and repeat-infringer actions.

Audience: All users and rights holders

Effective date: April 28, 2026

Draft note: this policy set is a working legal draft pending attorney review.

1. Ownership and permissions

Users retain ownership of content they post but must have legal rights to upload and publish that content on BookCollar.

By posting content, users grant BookCollar a non-exclusive license to host and display it for marketplace operations, safety review, and promotion.

2. Infringement notices

Rights holders may submit infringement notices to legal@bookcollar.com with sufficient detail to identify the protected work, the allegedly infringing content, and a statement made under penalty of perjury where required by law.

Incomplete notices may delay or prevent action.

3. Counter notices

If content is removed for alleged infringement, affected users may submit a counter notice when they believe removal was mistaken or unauthorized.

BookCollar may restore content as allowed by law after counter-notice review.

4. Repeat infringement and abuse

BookCollar may suspend or terminate repeat infringers and users who repeatedly submit abusive or bad-faith notices.

We reserve the right to remove content or accounts that create material IP risk for the marketplace.
