1. Purpose of This Policy

BookCollar is an online marketplace platform that connects customers with independent third-party service providers for in-person services.

This Community Standards and Acceptable Use Policy explains the conduct, content, safety, communication, review, and platform-use rules that apply to all users.

This policy applies to:

- Customers

- Providers

- Provider applicants

- Visitors

- Account holders

- Anyone who accesses or uses the BookCollar platform

This policy is incorporated into the BookCollar Terms of Service and Provider Terms.

2. General Conduct Standard

All users must use BookCollar in a lawful, respectful, honest, and safe manner.

Users must not use the platform to harm, threaten, deceive, harass, exploit, discriminate against, or abuse other users, BookCollar, or any third party.

Users are expected to communicate professionally and respectfully in:

- Messages

- Listings

- Profiles

- Reviews

- Booking notes

- Support requests

- Dispute submissions

- In-person service interactions

- Any other platform-related communication

3. Marketplace Relationship

BookCollar provides a platform that allows customers and independent providers to connect, communicate, book, and transact.

Providers are independent third-party service providers and are not employees, agents, partners, franchisees, or representatives of BookCollar.

Customers and providers are responsible for their own conduct, communications, decisions, and legal compliance when using the platform and participating in in-person services.

4. Respectful Communication

Users must communicate respectfully and professionally.

Users may not:

- Harass another user

- Threaten another user

- Use abusive language

- Use coercive language

- Bully or intimidate another user

- Pressure another user into unwanted conduct

- Send repeated unwanted messages

- Use sexually explicit, violent, or degrading language

- Misuse support channels

- Misrepresent facts in support, booking, or dispute communications

- Contact another user for reasons unrelated to a booking or legitimate platform use

Users must respect professional and personal boundaries before, during, and after bookings.

5. Harassment, Hate, and Discrimination

BookCollar does not allow harassment, hate, discrimination, intimidation, stalking, doxxing, threats, or targeted abuse.

Users may not discriminate against, refuse service to, harass, threaten, or mistreat another person based on legally protected characteristics or other protected or vulnerable status indicators.

This applies to:

- Listings

- Booking decisions

- Provider services

- Customer conduct

- Messages

- Reviews

- Support communications

- In-person interactions

- Platform participation

BookCollar may immediately restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts where credible safety, harassment, hate, discrimination, or abuse concerns exist.

6. Prohibited Content

Users may not post, upload, send, or submit content that is:

- Illegal

- Fraudulent

- Deceptive

- Misleading

- Defamatory

- Harassing

- Threatening

- Discriminatory

- Hateful

- Sexually exploitative

- Violent or graphic

- Malicious

- Invasive of privacy

- Infringing

- Unsafe

- Spam

- False or fabricated

- Harmful to users or the platform

- Otherwise prohibited by BookCollar policies

Users may not post content that misrepresents:

- Identity

- Business status

- Provider qualifications

- Licenses

- Insurance

- Certifications

- Service experience

- Service outcomes

- Prices

- Availability

- Reviews

- Customer experiences

- Platform affiliation

7. Listings and Service Descriptions

Providers must keep listings accurate, truthful, complete, and current.

Providers may not create listings that:

- Misrepresent the service

- Misrepresent the provider's qualifications

- Misrepresent licensing or insurance

- Misrepresent pricing

- Hide required fees

- Offer prohibited services

- Offer illegal services

- Offer regulated services without required approval, licensing, certification, registration, or insurance

- Use stolen photos or content

- Contain false claims

- Create unreasonable safety risk

- Violate BookCollar policies

BookCollar may remove, restrict, hide, or require changes to listings that violate this policy or create legal, safety, compliance, reputational, or operational concerns.

8. Provider Licensing, Credentials, and Compliance

Providers must be honest about their qualifications, licenses, permits, certifications, registrations, insurance, experience, and ability to perform services.

Providers may not:

- Submit fake licenses

- Submit expired licenses

- Submit altered documents

- Submit someone else's credentials

- Claim to be licensed when they are not

- Offer regulated services without required legal authority

- Continue offering services after a required license expires, is suspended, is revoked, or becomes invalid

- Fail to notify BookCollar of licensing or insurance issues

- Mislead customers about their qualifications

BookCollar may pause, restrict, suspend, or remove a provider account, listing, booking ability, or payout ability if required licenses, permits, certifications, registrations, insurance, or credentials expire, become invalid, are suspended, are revoked, cannot be verified, or appear insufficient.

9. Prohibited Services

Users may not offer, request, book, or perform services that are illegal, unsafe, deceptive, exploitative, or prohibited by BookCollar.

Prohibited or restricted services may include:

- Illegal services

- Sexual services

- Services involving controlled substances

- Weapons-related services

- Hazardous services

- Medical or health services unless specifically allowed and properly licensed

- Childcare or elder care unless specifically allowed and legally reviewed

- Legal, tax, or financial advice unless properly licensed and specifically allowed

- Regulated construction, trade, or repair services unless properly licensed and specifically allowed

- Services involving minors in a way that creates legal or safety concerns

- Services requiring licenses, permits, certifications, registrations, or insurance that the provider does not have

- Services that violate law, platform policy, or third-party rights

BookCollar may restrict certain categories, require manual approval, require license review, require insurance documentation, or prohibit certain services entirely.

10. Unsafe Conduct

Users must not engage in conduct that creates unreasonable risk of physical harm, emotional harm, property damage, theft, fraud, harassment, or unsafe conditions.

Unsafe conduct may include:

- Threats

- Violence

- Stalking

- Harassment

- Sexual misconduct

- Theft

- Property damage

- Unsafe work practices

- Entering unauthorized areas

- Bringing unauthorized people to a service appointment

- Ignoring safety instructions

- Performing services while impaired

- Pressuring users to meet in unsafe locations

- Refusing to leave a location when reasonably asked

- Bringing weapons to a service appointment, except where legally required and specifically allowed

- Any conduct that creates a serious safety concern

Users should contact emergency services immediately in an emergency or if there is an immediate threat to health, safety, or property.

BookCollar may take immediate action where safety concerns exist.

11. Customer Conduct

Customers must:

- Provide accurate booking information

- Provide accurate service location information

- Communicate respectfully

- Pay amounts due

- Follow cancellation and refund rules

- Be reasonably available for scheduled appointments

- Provide a safe and lawful environment for in-person services

- Treat providers respectfully

- Avoid harassment, threats, intimidation, or discrimination

- Avoid requesting services outside the scope of the listing

- Avoid pressuring providers to perform illegal, unsafe, or prohibited services

- Avoid misusing reviews, disputes, chargebacks, or refund processes

Customers may not use the platform to exploit providers, avoid payment, manipulate reviews, create false disputes, or commit fraud.

12. Provider Conduct

Providers must:

- Communicate professionally

- Maintain accurate listings

- Maintain accurate availability

- Perform services lawfully and professionally

- Maintain required licenses, permits, certifications, registrations, and insurance

- Arrive on time or communicate promptly if issues arise

- Respect customer property and privacy

- Avoid harassment, threats, intimidation, or discrimination

- Avoid unsafe or unlawful conduct

- Avoid unauthorized charges

- Avoid pressuring customers into off-platform payments

- Cooperate with disputes, refunds, chargebacks, and safety reviews

- Comply with Provider Terms, Provider Standards, and all applicable BookCollar policies

Providers may not use the platform to deceive customers, avoid platform rules, misrepresent services, or offer prohibited services.

13. Fraud, Scams, and Misrepresentation

Users may not engage in fraud, scams, deception, or misrepresentation.

Prohibited conduct includes:

- Impersonating a person or business

- Creating fake accounts

- Using stolen payment methods

- Submitting false documents

- Submitting fake licenses or insurance

- Misrepresenting service qualifications

- Misrepresenting booking facts

- Creating fake disputes

- Manipulating cancellation or refund rules

- Chargeback abuse

- Fake no-show claims

- Fake service completion claims

- Misleading customers or providers

- Misrepresenting affiliation with BookCollar

- Attempting to obtain money, services, refunds, or credits through false statements

BookCollar may report suspected fraud to payment processors, law enforcement, regulators, or other appropriate parties where permitted or required.

14. Off-Platform Payment Avoidance

Users may not use BookCollar to find, contact, or book another user and then complete payment outside approved BookCollar checkout flows where prohibited by BookCollar policy.

Users may not:

- Ask another user to cancel and pay outside the platform

- Pressure another user to avoid platform fees

- Use messages to move a BookCollar-originated transaction off-platform

- Misrepresent payment status

- Use off-platform payment to avoid cancellation, refund, dispute, tax, trust, safety, or platform rules

BookCollar may restrict or terminate accounts for off-platform payment avoidance.

15. Review and Reputation Integrity

Reviews and ratings must reflect genuine booking experiences.

Users may not:

- Post fake reviews

- Post reviews for services they did not receive or provide

- Review their own listings

- Use friends, family, employees, or affiliated parties to manipulate reviews

- Buy, sell, trade, or fabricate reviews

- Offer incentives for positive reviews without proper disclosure

- Threaten negative reviews to obtain refunds, discounts, credits, or special treatment

- Pressure users to remove or change honest reviews

- Post defamatory, false, harassing, discriminatory, private, or irrelevant review content

- Coordinate review abuse

BookCollar may remove, restrict, or moderate reviews that violate this policy.

BookCollar does not guarantee that all reviews are accurate, complete, current, or representative of future experiences.

16. Spam, Automation Abuse, and Technical Misuse

Users may not misuse the platform through spam, automation abuse, security abuse, or technical interference.

Prohibited conduct includes:

- Spam

- Bulk unsolicited messaging

- Phishing

- Credential stuffing

- Account takeover attempts

- Malware

- Scraping

- Unauthorized data harvesting

- Reverse engineering protected systems

- Bypassing technical controls

- Bypassing moderation controls

- Bypassing security controls

- Interfering with platform operations

- Testing vulnerabilities without permission

- Using bots or automation without authorization

- Creating excessive or abusive accounts

- Overloading platform infrastructure

BookCollar may restrict access, block activity, suspend accounts, or take technical and legal action to protect the platform.

17. Privacy and Data Misuse

Users may not collect, scrape, harvest, misuse, publish, or disclose personal information obtained through the platform except as permitted by BookCollar policies and applicable law.

Users may not:

- Use customer information for unauthorized marketing

- Use provider information for unauthorized marketing

- Publish private information without permission

- Doxx another user

- Sell or share platform user data without authorization

- Store user information for unrelated purposes

- Contact users outside the platform for unrelated purposes

- Use booking information for harassment, spam, fraud, or discrimination

Users must use personal information received through the platform only for legitimate booking, service, support, or platform-related purposes.

18. Intellectual Property

Users may not post, upload, send, or use content that infringes another person's intellectual property rights.

Prohibited content includes:

- Stolen photos

- Copied listing descriptions

- Unauthorized logos

- Unauthorized business names

- Copyrighted images without permission

- Trademark-infringing content

- Misleading brand references

- Content copied from another provider without permission

BookCollar may remove content that appears to violate intellectual property rights or the Copyright / IP Policy.

19. Support, Disputes, and Evidence

Users must be honest and cooperative when contacting BookCollar support or participating in dispute, refund, chargeback, safety, or policy reviews.

Users may not:

- Submit false evidence

- Alter screenshots

- Misrepresent facts

- Hide relevant information

- Threaten BookCollar staff or users

- Abuse support channels

- Repeatedly submit bad-faith disputes

- Use disputes to harass another user

- Use refund requests to avoid valid payment obligations

BookCollar may consider user cooperation, evidence, platform records, payment records, messages, and other available information when reviewing disputes.

20. Account Misuse

Users may not misuse accounts or platform access.

Prohibited account misuse includes:

- Creating fake accounts

- Creating duplicate accounts to avoid enforcement

- Sharing accounts without authorization

- Selling accounts

- Transferring accounts without permission

- Creating accounts for banned users

- Using another person's account

- Using inaccurate identity information

- Evading suspension or termination

- Attempting to access another user's account

BookCollar may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts involved in misuse.

21. Reporting Violations

Users should report suspected violations of this policy, safety issues, fraud, harassment, prohibited services, fake reviews, or other concerns through available platform tools or by contacting BookCollar support.

Reports should include relevant information when available, such as:

- Usernames

- Booking details

- Messages

- Screenshots

- Photos

- Dates and times

- Description of the issue

- Any supporting evidence

Users should contact emergency services immediately if there is an emergency or immediate threat to health, safety, or property.

22. Enforcement Actions

BookCollar may investigate potential violations of this policy, the Terms of Service, Provider Terms, or other platform policies.

BookCollar may take enforcement action where appropriate, including:

- Warning a user

- Removing content

- Removing reviews

- Hiding listings

- Requiring listing edits

- Restricting features

- Cancelling bookings

- Pausing provider accounts

- Pausing provider listings

- Pausing provider payouts where permitted

- Suspending accounts

- Terminating accounts

- Blocking payment activity

- Reporting unlawful conduct

- Cooperating with payment processors, regulators, or law enforcement

- Taking legal action

Enforcement decisions may consider:

- Severity of the violation

- Safety risk

- Legal risk

- Harm to users

- Fraud indicators

- Repeated behavior

- User history

- Evidence available

- Cooperation during review

- Payment processor requirements

- Applicable law

BookCollar is not required to take the same action in every case, but will attempt to apply policies reasonably and consistently.

23. Appeals and Follow-Up Review

Where appropriate and available, BookCollar may allow users to request follow-up review of certain enforcement decisions.

Appeals may not be available for every action, especially where urgent safety, fraud, legal, payment, or compliance concerns exist.

Users requesting review may be required to provide additional information or documentation.

BookCollar may uphold, modify, or reverse an enforcement decision based on available information.

- Any additional terms shown during signup, booking, provider onboarding, listing creation, payment, cancellation, refund, or dispute workflows

If there is a conflict between this policy and another BookCollar policy, the more specific policy will generally control for the issue it addresses, unless otherwise stated.

25. Policy Updates

BookCollar may update this policy from time to time to reflect legal requirements, platform changes, safety concerns, payment processor requirements, operational needs, or business practices.

Updated versions will be posted with a revised effective date or last updated date.

Where required by law or appropriate based on the change, BookCollar may provide additional notice or require users to accept updated terms.
